New - Holy Week at School

As a school community, we have been able to celebrate Holy Week (a week early) one of the most significant weeks in the church's calendar, through prayer, reflection, art & role-play.

We began the week with our Preps leading us in the story of Palm Sunday, they waved the palm branches and sang Hosanna!

Our 1/2 students led us in a quiet reflection of art and creative constructions centred around the washing of the feet & the last supper, key scripture stories from Holy Thursday.

Our 3/4 students led us through the events of Good Friday through role-play. They showed us the significance of this special day.

As Easter Sunday is in the school holidays our Upper students will celebrate the Resurrection with us through prayer in the first week of next term.

New - Baptism

Last Wednesday Alex & Matthew Khan were baptised in front of their family, classmates and teachers at St. Mel's Church. What a beautiful celebration it was, such a rich tradition that reminds us of the important sense of belonging. We were so blessed to be a part of this special day for the boys.

The whole Khan family have attended primary school at St. Mel's and were just so thankful and truly felt a part of a special community. A big thank you to Fr Peter who made this beautiful celebration happen, what a wonderful learning opportunity for our lower & upper students and memories we will all hold close of how blessed we were to have been a part of this significant event.

On behalf of our school community, congratulations Alex and Matthew, and thank you for allowing us to be part of your special celebration. Something we will never forget.

We have included some photos of this special celebration.

Thanks again to all involved

Project Compassion 2022

Our Social Justice Team have been busy checking in and raising awareness for our annual Caritas, Project Compassion Campaign.

They have counted all the donations with our Admin Team from all our boxes and the money raised from our events this term. We have raised over $1000, this is a fantastic effort, well done everyone.

Thank you to everyone who has donated this year and please know the impact & positive difference we've been able to make in the lives of those in need.
