Library News

Once a term, we offer students and parents the opportunity to purchase current and popular titles from the Scholastic Catalogue. The school earns reward points for every order that can be redeemed for new books and resources for the Library. Scholastic Book Club Orders are due by Monday, 15 March.

Please remember to place all orders online at www.scholastic.com.au/LOOP or download the app LOOP.  We no longer accept cash or cheque payments for Book Club orders at school. Items will be delivered to the school before the end of each term and sent home with your child. If a parent or carer prefers to pick up the order, please notify the Library staff and we will keep it aside for you.

Library bag reminder

So that we can keep our library books in good condition, we encourage you to continue sending in a library bag with your child on their scheduled library day. Students in K-4 now require a bag if they wish to borrow.

Premier's Reading Challenge

This will be the fifth consecutive year that students at NCS are invited to participate in the Premier’s Reading Challenge. Students in 3-6 are encouraged to read a minimum of 20 books selected from an extensive booklist including fiction, non-fiction, graphic novels and picture books. Students in K-2 have a choice of reading 30 easier reads or have a selection of books that the class teacher and librarian read to them. The challenge starts runs from 1 March to 20 August and all students who complete the challenge will receive a certificate signed by the NSW Premier as well as other prizes. More information can be found on www.premiersreadingchallenge.nsw.edu.au
