FOUNDATION WELCOME BBQ

Last Thursday afternoon we held our annual welcome to Maramba for our Foundation students and families. It was a great first school community event for our newest members of our school. With almost all of our families being able to attend, this provided a perfect opportunity for our families to connect with each other and put a face to the names of their child’s many friends.

The students had an extra treat of a bubble wand. It was brilliant watching them with huge smiles on their faces running around the Foundation playground with bubbles floating everywhere. Seeing our students having so much fun together at the BBQ picnic was fantastic!

We couldn’t have asked for better weather and the atmosphere was very friendly and relaxed. The great Australian sausage sizzle was in full effect and enjoyed by everyone, which hopefully gave our parents and carers a night off having to cook dinner at home. The food was wonderfully prepared and served by some of our fantastic staff!

Thank you to everyone and a very special thank you to our Foundation teachers for doing such an amazing job in organising the event. Well done!

MARAMBA’S 30 YEAR BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

Yesterday was a very important day in the life of Maramba Primary School as we celebrated serving the community for 30 years. During these 30 years, thousands of children their families and staff have been at Maramba for the relative chapters in their lives. While they move on as part of their life journey they have all left an imprint of themselves in the history of memories left behind.

We started the day with a joyful and enthusiastic school assembly to celebrate being a part of something special and sing happy birthday to Maramba for turning 30 years old. All of the year groups made a special class birthday card and at recess all students were given a special celebration cupcake. After all, what is a birthday without a little bit of cake!

After school, a special 30 year celebration was held for past and present staff to reunite, share stories and celebrate this important milestone in the school’s life. It was wonderful see and meet many of the amazing people from teachers, educational support staff, school councillors and previous principals come to together for this important event.

As educators both past and present, we are all exceptionally proud to be a part of and have contributed to our amazing Maramba community. Providing support and opportunities to all children and their families who walk through our gates and join the Maramba family is a privilege and an honour that we have all enjoyed in the past, the present and the many years to come in Maramba’s future!

Thank you to our FOM parent and carer volunteers for supporting the event and our school councillors. Our current school staff who also helped to ensure the evening ran smoothly and Matt our maintenance person who went above and beyond.

A very special thank you to Lynda Gange and Anne Spittal for organising this special event, collating all of the photos and ensuring everyone was well looked after. They both spent countless hours bringing the shared celebration to life but they also did this with a lot of passion and love for the Maramba School community. Thank you again for your invaluable contribution!

Kind regards,
