Head of Students News

Mr Peter Serone

Uniform Matters

Thank you to those parents and guardians who have supported their sons by addressing uniform issues, particularly hats and socks. Staff have noted a marked improvement in the way the boys are presenting at school, and on my recent visit to Enoggera train station, the boys were overall well presented with many positive comments made to me by the station guard.

Before we realise, Term 2 will be upon us, which means winter uniform. It is important that students have the correct shirt and collar size to make the wearing of their ties with the top button done up, achievable and comfortable.

Our goal is to have students proud of their uniform, presentation and the school they belong to.

Securing Your Friends List on Facebook

With so much in the media lately in regards to Facebook, this provides the perfect opportunity to have a conversation with your young man in regards to his use of Facebook.

Whilst Facebook is not widely used by teens, the world’s number one social media platform still provides a safety risk to its users – in particular young users. One of the major traps young people fall into is not securing their ‘friends’ list. Below is some timely information, to share with your son, in regards to having a secure Facebook experience. As with all social media use, encourage them to have a positive digital footprint – so Facebook may enhance their future prospects as opposed to limit them.
