Meet our 2021 Liturgy &

Social Justice Leaders...

                      Madeline                                                                         Gianni

These students are looking forward to working together with myself, Mrs Gerosolimo, Ms Frances and Miss Costa to help Bring Our Faith to Life and to STEP UP! and BE MORE!

Congratulations leaders!

So what do our leaders hope to achieve as Liturgy & Social Justice captains?

Madeline: As a Liturgy and Social Justice Captain for 2021, my hopes and goals for this year are to raise money to help and support our friendship school in the Philippines  who are in need and are less fortunate than us.  I would also like to take part in some of the school masses at Church and be a sensible leader during masses. I would like to make sure that I am making fundraising an enjoyable experience for all the students at St Kevin’s. I am very thankful that I have been chosen to be one of our Liturgy and Social Justice Captain’s this year and I hope that I can achieve all my goals and be a good leader.

Gianni:As the Liturgy and Social Justice captain of St Kevin’s Primary this year I wish to achieve the following goals.

Firstly, I would like to raise a good amount of money for our friendship schools that are in need and aren’t as fortunate as us. We are so lucky to have the supplies that we have and I would like to share these supplies with them.

Secondly,  I would like to learn to have a deeper understanding of Jesus Christ and share that knowledge throughout our school while being a responsible and hardworking leader and good role model.

This term our Social Justice focus is Caritas Australia.

Every year, countless people turn Lent into a demonstration of faith, love and generosity. We can all be a part of this incredible community, who believe that there are simple actions we can all take to “be more” for our world.

By giving what you can this Lent, you will help transform the lives of many people. Click on the following link - Jamila from Bangladesh - to commence watching a short clip about Jamila who is a twenty-two year old single mother, living in the world’s largest refugee camp in Cox’s Bazar in Bangladesh. A Rohingya woman, she fled the armed conflict in Myanmar’s Rakhine State to save herself, her elderly mother and eight month old baby daughter.

Watch her story and see how her life has changed, thanks to people like us.

Each year level will be organising a fundraising event for Caritas Australia which will be held some time this term.

Please support where you can.

Thank you!

Our lovely indigenous garden has been given a new name.

Welcome to Amaroo (lovely/beautiful place).

The children and staff voted on a new name for our existing Father Charlie’s Garden.  Many Aboriginal names were presented to both children and staff.

The FIRE Carriers counted all the votes and Amaroo came in first by a long shot.

Early next year a plaque will be blessed and then erected in the garden.
