RE NEWS

By Sonia Costa

During Lent each year level at St Kevin’s plans and organises a fundraising event in which we raise money for Caritas’ Project Compassion. As soon as the levels have finalised their events the students will be notified by letter.

Project Compassion is Caritas Australia's annual Lenten fundraising and awareness-raising appeal. Millions of Australians come together in solidarity with the world's poor to help end poverty, promote justice and uphold dignity.

It only takes seconds to make the world a better place. Are you with us?

I have included a link to the Project Compassion home page which will take you to feature stories. These stories show how the money raised through Project Compassion assists communities in need.

Prayer

Lord, please show me what I should give up for Lent.  When I've given it up, remind me to pray to You, to thank You, to love You, to hear from You each and every day in Lent.

Amen

Sunday Mass

During Term 1 each class at St Kevin’s School is allocated the gospel reading for the following weekend’s mass. In Religious Education lessons the gospel is read and discussed with the students to unpack its meaning and message. Then each class designs a poster which reflects their understanding of this gospel. The poster is displayed at church, and on the parish website. This week it was Junior TG’s turn and here is their work which reflects the gospel of Mark 9:2-10
