BIOLOGY WITH BRAD

This week Brad is learning about cell membranes in Unit 3 Biology.

This is another activity you can try at home with the family!

Cell membranes are an important structure – they help to protect your cells, maintain internal cell environments and control what can enter and leave your cells. Membranes, like bubbles, are not fixed or solid structures. Rather, they are fluid and are constantly in motion. Small substances that are not charged, such as oxygen gas can easily cross your membrane via diffusion, however large substances like proteins need special protein channels for them to move through. If you want to investigate how your membrane functions, why not try the bubble lab at home? Follow the link below and enjoy!
