DINNER ON THE DECK

Last Friday saw the return of the Year 7 ‘Dinner on the Deck’. It was a fantastic evening with a huge turn up; clearly we were all keen to ‘get out and about’. Thank you to all that attended this fantastic evening.

Thanks also to Sally Nettleship and Sarah Grubelnik for all their organisational work leading up to the event and also for all their work on the night as well as all the support provided by staff, the Community Association, the Canteen, the Musicians and the Student Leaders. Well done and all your efforts are greatly appreciated!

CONGRATULATIONS TO EVE FERRIE OF YEAR 9

Eve has had some recent success and has recently been awarded the 2021 Chris & Ann Krans Young Musicians Award through the Dandenong Ranges Music Council. She will perform in a prize winner’s concert on Saturday 29th May.

Eve is currently preparing for her LmusA diploma on the saxophone, which will make her the youngest student in Australia to do so. She is performing later this year in a concert at Forty Five Downstairs in Brunswick, with her teacher, Joseph Lallo, saxophone professor at Melbourne University. As a keen jazz pianist and singer, Eve will also take part in a couple of live gigs with renowned Australian jazz pianist, Steve Sedergreen.

Eve has also been featured in the latest Clasax Magazine. It highlights her win in the 2020 American Protégé Competition in which she won the Judges Distinction Award and was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall, New York.

Eve, an outstanding result and all the best in the near future, well done!
