Drama

Drama is thriving in 2021 with Kempsey High School currently running drama classes in years 8, 9, 10 and 11. Year 8 students are introduced to the subject through a variety of group-based games and improvisation exercises that seek to build confidence, teamwork, and performance skills.

Students in Years 9 and 10 who have selected Drama as their elective learn about the elements of drama, theatre sports and specific

performance styles such as melodrama and commedia dell ‘arte. This term, year 10 Drama students will be working towards their first individual performance assessment. Year 11 students will delve into contemporary Australian theatre, and will also work to develop individual and group devised performances.

It is encouraging to see so much talent and enthusiasm from our students and we look forward to their future performances.
