Our First Week all together back at St Francis de Sales has been sensational. We have had a week of glorious weather and it has been perfect to enjoy some much needed time connecting with friends on the playground.

There were squeals of delight and very happy faces as children entered the learning space and greeted friends and teachers. Everyone has followed our new normal of hand sanitising on entering the space and getting their temperature checked. Morning gathering is a little different as we go to our home groups instead of as a learning space. Now we all have our water bottles instead of using the bubblers.

All our children are ready to get into the learning. For teachers and children it is so wonderful to be working face to face once again. Early checks show that parents, teachers and children did an amazing job during remote learning at SFS and many children are showing great progress.

The Government has announced this week, that in 2021 there will be additional funding to schools for tutors. We will soon find out what additional funds will be available to our school. This will be a great added support to the resources we have and to what we have already planned to do. St Francis de Sales staff are exceptional in personalising the curriculum to meet the needs of the child. We will be taking our children from where they are at, supporting their progress to the next step in their learning.

The partnership between home and school has been strong and we want to maintain this going forward.  Together we will help our children progress. Let's keep the momentum going and really make a difference.

Let's start a conversation....

We would really like to learn about the insights you gained about your child while learning at home these past months from tasks planned and from what they engaged in themselves. We would love you to take a moment to answer the following question. We will send it to you via Operoo (the new Care Monkey) Please share your insights with us before the end of this month.

10th Anniversary Time Capsule

What a year to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of St Francis de Sales!! There was a lot planned but unfortunately we have not been able to gather and celebrate. However it has been quite a year. So one of our plans that we can execute is creating a time capsule to be opened at our 25th Anniversary in 2035!!

It will be great to capture our past 10 years and in particularly this year. We would like to include photos, videos and samples of work. So we will be sending a permission form to parents via Operoo. Please let us know by next Friday if your child's photo, video and work can be included in our 10th Anniversary Time Capsule.

Uniform and Hair.

In Term 4 children wear their summer uniform. It is great to see all our children looking great in their school uniform. Remember hats needs to be worn when outside.

Children with hair longer than their shoulders need to have their hair tied back. There has been an alert in the news this week of super resistant lice. We want to avoid this problem as much as possible at SFS in Term 4, 2020.

For anyone who missed the second virtual choir performance, here it is!!
