Student Leaders News
We hope you and your families are all safe and well and getting used to stage 4 restrictions.
We are disappointed that it will now be longer before we can return to our school and classrooms at St Martin's, but everyone's health and safety has to be the most important thing right now. We have done this before and we know that we can learn anywhere and anytime. It's our attitude and learning powers that are most important to get us through.
As we near the end of our third week of learning from home, we checked in with some of our student leaders to see how they were going.
Ruchelle said remote and flexible learning was making her feel a bit tired at the end of the day because for most of the day she sits in front of a computer. She suggested it is definitely more comfortable though!
Joni feels better during remote and flexible learning because she has little to no distractions and doesn't have to worry about anyone annoying her while Will described how he feels happy but lonely because he gets to stay home and do work and still keep his family safe but also he described feeling lonely because he can't talk to his school friends like he usually does.
This time round Jonathan is going to increase his skills in coding and talk more with his friends from school, online.
Ashal is going to try her best and expand on her knowledge so she can be prepared when she goes back to school and Saharsh is going to prepare for all the rules in school and know his friends more than how he used to know them.
Three best tips from:
Ruchelle | William |
---|---|
Stay safe | Don't give up |
Be positive | Stay healthy |
Spend time with your family/friends (while social distancing of course) | Keep viben at home |
Finally we asked some leaders for an inspirational quote to help get them through this time.
My inspirational quote for learning at home is "No matter how many limitations you place, someone will always be able to pass it." I chose this quote because it makes me always be resilient and bounce back from any holes on my path. Jonathan
My inspirational quote for learning at home is “Never stop teaching, because we are never finished learning.” I chose this because it is inspiring and it tells me that I should never underestimate the amount I learn because some day it might not be enough, unless I never stop. Ashal
My inspirational quote for learning at home is “In the middle of your difficulty, lies your opportunity." Rashad
My inspirational quote for at home learning is “At the end of a long dark road is a great treasure.” I chose this quote because if we all contribute and stay at home then this horrible virus will go away. William
Stay safe and positive,
