PRINCIPAL UPDATE

Woo Hoo… We are organised, and ready to go.  Looking forward to seeing you all at the fair this Friday evening.  Please see Fair updates in this newsletter for any further information and look out in children’s school bags later this week for a fair booklet that is coming home to you!

We again thank Grace Larobina for her time here at Chilwell and we wish her all the best for her next adventures.  We will be able to farewell her in the assembly on Thursday 6th April. Current recruitment processes are currently taking place and we will inform our community when decisions have been finalised.

Chess For Schools is coming to Chilwell in term 2.

We are excited to be able to offer Chess Club at Chilwell next term. Chess for Schools is an organisation that provides a coach to the school to run beginner or advanced chess clubs throughout each term.  Individuals can enrol for a term at $135.00 via an online portal and will participate each Wednesday from 1:40 pm until 2:30 pm.  There are lessons (if required), competitions and awards presented at the end of each term.

As this is new, we will be capping numbers at 24 for the term, and review them if required later in the year. I have previously worked with this company, and it was a huge hit with students and families alike.

Please read all relevant information attached to the newsletter.  This is an externally run club, therefore all correspondence following sign-up will go through the company itself.

Assembly will be at 2 pm next Thursday April 6th, the last day of term with school finishing at 2:30 pm on this day.  Please ensure arrangements have been made to ensure students are collected at this time.

There will be a second-hand uniform sale at 2:30pm on the last day of term.  Multiple uniform items will be available at a fraction of the cost.  Please take up this opportunity to get ready for winter uniform items.

Thank you all for a fabulous term 1, although a busy term it has been great getting to know the community, and I am very much looking forward to term 2 and beyond.
