Grade 1 & 2
Term 1, Week 9
What a fabulous Term 1 we have had in Year 1/2! We are well and truly settled in our classrooms and routines. We have excelled in our Literacy, Numeracy and Integrated learning - scaffolded by some amazing mentor texts (read some of these with your children on Showbie!). We have also been joined by some wonderful parent helpers across all 5 classrooms and the teachers are very grateful for all the help and support we have received!
To wrap up all the learning we have done through our Integrated unit “How Do We Use Technology?”, we will be holding a glamorous movie premiere at school! Please save the date of 5th of April 2023 from 2pm onwards.
We will be watching the movie students made on their excursion to ACMI, as well as some short films we have made in class about cybersafety, using our new green screen knowledge and iMovie.
Students will be encouraged to bring a “touch of glam” to wear (think feather boas, bow ties, fancy hats or jackets) for a media wall photoshoot from 2pm and then movie screenings will start from 2:30pm onwards. Just a touch please, and not a full glam outfit! Parents, families and guardians are also encouraged to wear a touch of glam :)

24th March - Chinese Day
29th March - Whole School Cross Country
5th April - Year 1/2 Movie Premiere (families and guardians invited)
6th April - Last Day of Term 1, 2:30pm finish
Looking Ahead for Term 2
- Our Integrated unit next term will be “How Do Things Grow and Survive?”, so we will be going on an excursion to Healesville Sanctuary early Term 2! Please keep an eye out for the permission form coming soon.
- Reminder - over the break, can you please encourage your child to upload photos of their holiday to their Showbie folder (class > Writing > Ideas). Bonus points for anything nature related!
