Goals for Living Well  Learning Well 

The Term 1 theme for Living Well Learning Well at Sacred Heart is 'We Are Safe'.  Each week we unpack a Core Value to remind us of the actions and behaviours to uphold in reaching our goals. 

Week 9 Core Value is: ''Work with others to solve problems."

Students watched a short video "Solving Problems with Hunter & Eve".  This video highlighted the importance of:

• Understanding the problem
• Thinking about solutions
• Keeping on trying until something works
• Solving the problem together

The students then discussed the scenario raised in the video and asked themselves:

• Did Eve help Hunter to problem solve?
• How did Eve help Hunter?
• How successful do you think Hunter would have been without Eve? 
• What role did each of them play in solving the problem of getting across the river?

From there we looked at some of the ways we could contribute to helping a friend solve a problem:

• Taking turns
• Have a role
• Brainstorm
• Let each person have an opportunity to share their thoughts and feelings

As a group we believe that students working together with other students and teachers will make positive changes at school.
