GAT Exam

Wednesday 7th October

The GAT exam will take place on Wednesday 7th October, Week 1 of Term 4

 

Who: All students enrolled in a Unit 3&4 subject must sit the GAT (all year 12s and students in year 11 doing a year 12 subject)

Time: Arrive at school at 9am. Exam to commence at 10am

Location: Staughton College. Enter via the front of the school (side door near the main staffroom, temperature checks will occur). Head straight to the gym.

 

The GAT will run from 10am until 1:15pm. You cannot leave the GAT early. Please wear full school uniform and refer to the post on Google Classroom which has the exam Navigator attached. The navigator has all the rules and allowed materials for the GAT.

 

Some rules to remember:

  • students must wear masks
  • water bottles are to be clear (all labels removed) and not more than 1.5L
  • Mobile phones (and other unauthorised devices) are not to be taken into the exam room.
  • watches are to be taken off and placed on the table (iWatches or similar are to be treated like mobile phones)
  • You may take a dictionary (not a thesaurus) into GAT
  • you cannot take a calculator into the GAT
  • you will need; pens, pencils, sharpener and an eraser. Whiteout is not permitted.
  • you cannot take your pencil case in- we suggest an elastic band or clear plastic pocket for your stationery
  • you will need your student number, this can be found on your timetable that we given to you earlier this year or will be provided to you on the morning on the GAT in the gym

 

The GAT is a three hour exam with an additional 15 minutes of reading time. It has three sections. Two writing tasks that are 30 minutes long and a MCQ section that takes about 2 hours.
