Sports Association

Meeting: Monday 25th February 2019 (6:00 - 7:30 p.m.) PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF TIME
St Anne's Sports Association (SASA) was established in 2018 to oversee the sporting provisions for St Anne's College. SASA comprises of Erin McCarroll, Kim Merkel, Corey VanDerWerf, Dave Davis, Mardie Guppy and Andrew O'Hora.
The SASA have been developing codes of conduct, organising uniforms and registering for particular sports that our students can participate in along with investigating the development of our own sports fields.
It is now time that we call for interested parents and students that would like to participate local sporting competitions in particular netball (Year 7) and soccer (Foundation and Seven) and other local events such as the Murray River Marathon.
A meeting will be held on MONDAY FEBRUARY 25 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at St Anne's College
Your attendance is required. At this meeting we give an overview of the SASA and commence the registration process for both Soccer and Netball, establish teams and appointing team managers and coaches. We also like to invite interested people to join the SASA.
Winter Sport
We have currently registered College teams in the following sports:
NETBALL -Year Seven girls
SOCCER -Year Seven girls & boys
-Foundation girls & boys
Is there anything else we could add?
Working With Children's Check
The Working With Children's Check (WWCC) is just one of St Anne's College responsibilities in creating and maintaining a child-safe environment. Child Safety Laws mandate that anyone who has either physical or electronic contact with children must have a current WWCC. It is also a requirement of the local sporting associations for School Delegates, Coaches, Team Managers to have a current WWCC.
Volunteer WWCC are free and the application process is begun online:
http://www.workingwithchildren.vic.gov.au
Please bring your current WWCC to the meeting to be photocopied and held on file at St Anne's College.
Stadium Stomp
St Anne's College Kialla have registered a team for our families and friends to be part of the MCG Stadium Stomp on 30th June. Registrations can be made directly online: https://www.stadiumstomp.com/events/melbourne/
Murray River Marathon
We would love to have a Year Seven relay team to compete in the Murray River Marathon in November 2019. This is an amazing five day paddling adventure covering 404km of the Murray River from Yarrawonga to Swan Hill. This would require commitment for training and the event for 8-10 students -no prior experience required.
