From the Principal

Benvenuto - Welcome

Dear friends, families and community members

Here we are again!

Two weeks have gone by so quickly and we have packed so much in.

The photo above is just an example of what is to come from Goulburn Valley School Photography.  Thanks to Dale, Stuart and the team. The day ran smoothly and we managed to get a whole college photo, despite the wind and bad hair moments!  I can't wait to see the final products.

Our first College Mass was a beautiful celebration for us a new community united in God's love.  Under the guidance of St Anne we are able to flourish in faith, wisdom and learning.  Our children were excellent role models and it was so impressive to see them participate and join in with happy smiles on their faces.  Our older children were great role models for our younger children as they led them with care and dedication.  We are in great hands with these magnificent children.

In the coming weeks we will begin our Lenten journey.  The season of Lent lasts for forty days and is a time for us to examine our lives and ask the question "What can I do to be a better person?"  In our Christian Tradition we reflect on the life of Jesus Christ and remember the great sacrifices He made to care for and be a voice for the vulnerable, oppressed or outcast.  He challenged the rule of the and got people to move out of their comfort zones and really examine how they can make a difference in someone's life.  You could say Jesus was a radical person who question the authorities and did not accept the injustices of the day.  In His life Jesus modelled for us perfect humanity.  Through his death, on Good Friday, he showed his vulnerability, yet his values for love, harmony and good will did not waiver.  He died so that we could have life.  In the words from the Gospel of John (10:10)   "To bring life and have it abundantly."  During this season of Lent how will you make a difference to the lives of those about you?  Will you have the courage to stand up for injustices? Can you make a difference to the people about us that are not as fortunate as we are?  How can we be Christ like in our daily lives?

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those people that contribute to making St Anne's College a great place to be.  Your deeds are noticed and appreciated.  Mille Grazie!

Alla prossima volta
