Jenkin of the Year

Congratulations Lloyd Butcher!

This award is to recognise a member of the Jenkin Community, in their contribution to the House.

This person demonstrates leadership, compassion, humility, and integrity.

This year’s recipient is Llyod Butcher (12Je).

Lloyd commenced his Girton journey in 2014 and throughout that time has been fully committed and connected to Jenkin House.

He is a young man who offers genuine friendship to his friends and enjoys their company, a keen sense of humour, and can laugh at his mistakes. He offers excellent support to the younger students through mentoring; he can lighten any moment, and provide a gentle ear when needed. A talented sportsperson who has represented Girton many times. A passionate member and supporter of his home football team, the Magpies of Castlemaine. Lloyd is a young man who understands that to him much is given, and that he has a responsibility give to others.  His commitment to Jenkin House, Girton Grammar School and the wider community resonate this. Lloyd is a person who is prepared to demonstrate his commitment to a cause. A young man who led this year’s Shave for a Cure Team, which was an inspiration to all.

As the years have progressed, so has Lloyd’s understanding of who he is and what is needed for his future. Lloyd aspires to be able to work in a business where he can help others to improve their lives. Lloyd is an outstanding young man and will be greatly missed in Jenkin House.
