Hockey News

Congratulations to the Junior Girls Hockey team who represented the Loddon Mallee Region at the School Sports Victoria State Final in Melbourne on Monday the 11th of November. The team departed Bendigo bright and early Monday morning and played their first match against Strathmore Secondary College. A great start to the day with the students producing some wonderful team Hockey to win the match 2-0.  The team then played Princes Hill Secondary and East Doncaster Secondary. Unfortunately, both teams were too strong on the day with experienced hockey players proving too strong for our team.

Thank you to Hamish Archibald (10 Riley) for coaching the team and providing excellent leadership and knowledge of the strategies required. Many of the girls in our team do not play competitive hockey and are congratulated for trying a new sport. To make a School Sport Victoria State Final with such an inexperienced team is a wonderful achievement and we look forward to seeing you on the hockey pitch again next year. Well done team.
