MVPS Giving Tree

Giving Tree

Dear Families,

As you are aware, many leading department stores organise a wishing tree in their store to provide the opportunity for people to buy Christmas gifts for children who are disadvantaged in today’s society.  Organisations such as the Salvation Army, the Smith Family and many others are to be commended for the manner in which they distribute these gifts to needy families in order to make Christmas a happier time for many children.

At Mount View Primary School we have successfully organised a “Giving Tree” program over the last twenty years,  whereby the students in each class have provided presents for children in need at Christmas.

Once again in 2019 we invite all the students in the school to donate a gold coin so that each class could purchase two age-appropriate presents, one for a boy and one for a girl.  If each class were to raise approximately $40.00, then two presents could be purchased to make Christmas a more joyful time for many families.

With over eighty presents purchased by the school and placed beneath the “Giving Tree”, we will then ask for a representative from the Salvation Army to accept the gifts from each class at the school’s assembly on Monday December 16th at 2:40pm

I hope that you can support the children of Mount View Primary School as they participate in learning about the essence of Christmas – giving to others without the thought of wanting something in return.

Merry Christmas and best wishes,

Rachel Judd
