Brooke's Message
Tuesday December 13th 2022
Dear Parents/Carers,
We are nearly at the end of the year, it’s hard to believe that we have less than a week until we break up.
The last week is all about celebration at MSS, our staff have been busy organising a multitude of fun activities, led by our students, out and about in the community. From wildlife parks, museums and trips to the movies, to picnics in the park. It’s been such a pleasure watching our students head out today with beaming smiles in anticipation for what the day has in store.
I’d like to take this opportunity to once again thank our dedicated staff for their hard work and their unwavering positivity but also to thank our students who make coming to school every day so rewarding.
I cannot wait to see what adventures we all have together in 2023!
This week your child’s 2023 teacher will be reaching out to you to introduce themselves and to invite you in to school for a meet and greet opportunity. The meeting will consist of a brief presentation and allows you to raise any concerns that you might have or to ask questions regarding the transition into the new year.
The session times will be:
9.00 - 9.45 a.m.
10.00 - 10.45 a.m.
11.00 - 11.45 a.m.
While the leadership team make every effort to ensure the classes will operate successfully, we do allow a 6-week period to make adjustments should they be needed.
On Monday this week, MSS students had the opportunity to also meet their 2023 teacher and to visit their new classroom. It was a wonderful afternoon, despite the rain, the students navigated their way around the school without complication.
The Year 12 graduation really is a calendar highlight every year for both students and staff. It marks and celebrates the end of an incredible journey and the start of new beginnings for our young adults.
As you can imagine it is always an emotional event, but MSS staff are always so proud to support and farewell our graduating students as they embark on the next chapter of their lives.
Thank you, Megan Oldfield and everyone involved for once again coordinating such a wonderful evening.
Well, this is it, the last update before our grand opening!
I am beyond excited about the impact that this new building will have on the learning outcomes of our students moving forward. With dedicated specialised learning spaces including horticulture, art and our mini Woolies; ‘The Mini Melton’. We cannot wait to throw open the doors to your young people and let them enjoy the new space.
The end of Term 4 can be quite an unnerving time in our student’s school journey due to the inevitable changes that occur transitioning form one year to the next.
This year, however, we have Bunji on board and he has been hard at work across the school providing the support that only he can.
His impact on our students and staff has been truly remarkable.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!
