Principal's Update

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you to everyone who has contributed their feedback through our recent surveys regarding OSHC, our buildings and the school review.  I would also like to acknowledge the students who engaged in this process, as their contributions to discussion showed a high level of maturity and considered reflection of student data.  The feedback received from students, staff and the wider community, will be instrumental in informing our plans for the future.

Monday 21st is Be Kind Day.  As kindness is one of our school values, we will be promoting this at school through acts of kindness.  Families are also encouraged to participate by sending in stories or words of kindness that we can add to a whole of school display.

Tomorrow, at 2.30pm, students in Years 3-6 will present a performance of their learning in music this term.  Due to changes in restrictions, parents may now attend this event.  As part of the new requirements, please complete QR check-in at the gate and sign in as usual, at the kiosk outside the office.

Next Thursday, students in Years 5 & 6 will travel to the Bonhote farm in Tawonga, to take part in a revegetation program.  Landcare will be assisting in this process and students will learn the importance of protecting our waterways and the role that trees play in this.

Next Friday, a special band performance will be held for all students, at 12pm.  The concert will include performances from the Mount Beauty Schools’ Jazz Ensemble, Intermediate and Senior Bands.  In preparation, students in the Intermediate band will be participating in additional rehearsals on Monday.  Families are also welcome to attend.

As we have recently had reports of headlice, all families are asked to please conduct regular checks of their child’s hair and to treat as necessary.  Students found to have headlice, must be treated before returning to school.

As the last day of term, next Friday will be a casual dress day.  Students are encouraged to bring a gold coin donation to contribute to our ongoing support of people experiencing homelessness.
