NAPLAN Tests 2021

2021 NAPLAN Tests

Important Information for Parents/ Carers

The NAPLAN (National Assessment Program Literacy and Numeracy) for 2021 for Year 3 and 5 students will be held this week on Tuesday 11 May, Wednesday 12 May and Thursday 13 May. NAPLAN tests seek to measure student  performance standards across writing, reading, language conventions (spelling, grammar and punctuation) and numeracy.

The results of the NAPLAN tests provide information for students, parents, and the school.

Testing data is used to inform teaching programs leading to improved student achievement. All students (Years 3 & 5) are expected to participate in NAPLAN tests. Students who are absent on test days, will have the opportunity to undertake the NAPLAN tests on a separate day during test week.

Later in the year you will receive your child's personal NAPLAN report.

The report will describe your child's particular results from the Reading, Writing, Spelling, Language Conventions and Numeracy testing. The report will also show how your child performed in relation to Australian minimum standards.

The information you receive as a result of your child's participation in NAPLAN tests will be valuable in helping you assess your child’s progress in literacy and numeracy. You can also be assured that St Simon’s uses NAPLAN data to help inform its Teaching & Learning program.

For more information about the tests, please visit the VCAA website at www.vcaa.vic.edu.au or the NAP website  at www.nap.edu.au
