Around the College

Calendar Adjustments

Many parents have hard copies of our Annual Planner they refer to, but we remind families that under the current health crisis unfolding across the globe, that many of these events have had to be cancelled, or rescheduled, to allow us to comply with the government issued regulations.

Teachers will be in direct contact with parents where there have had to be changes made - so keep an eye out for emails or correspondence that might be essential for your planning.

Secondary Assistance Scheme - CLOSING SOON.

If you have a Secondary student and hold a Centrelink Health Care Card, you may be eligible to claim from the 2020 Secondary Assistance Scheme.

Forms are available at the Administration in Busselton.  You just need to let the College sight your Health Care Card, complete the form, and then we will submit the document on your behalf.

This scheme closes on Thursday 9 April, so act today to avoid disappointment.

The Winter Uniform Approaches!

Yes, we may still feel that we are in the heat of summer, but it's not long now until the winter uniform needs to be aired for wearing.  From the start of Term 2, we switch over to our formal uniform for the highschool and also students in Years 3 to 6.   Now is the time to check for sizes (dress lengths etc) and place an order to ensure deliveries arrive in plenty of time. Please remember that the red College jumper is also a requirement for the winter uniform.

Parents should make use of the onsite fitting centres at both Colleges prior to placing online orders.

Uniform Exchanges

Uniform Exchange Policy - If you order an incorrectly sized item or the wrong item altogether, parents will need to complete the Exchange Form available on the College website (http://www.cornerstone.education/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Product-Exchange-Form.pdf) and return directly to Perm-A-Pleat (purchaser's expense). Please check our website for more information on uniform exchange policy.

One way to avoid incorrect sizes it to make use of our Fitment Centres, which are available at both campuses.

Student Absences

If your child is unable to attend school, parents are advised to contact our friendly Administration prior to 8:45am by phone or by email to attendance@cornerstone.education,  and provide a reason for your child's absence.

For planned whole of day absences (even if it's just 24 hours away), a Leave of Absence Form must be submitted.  It's not just a matter of sending an email.  You would use this form for a family holiday, surgery, sporting or extra-curricular activities, full-day medical appointments (Perth) etc.   You can find the form at http://www.cornerstone.education/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Leave-of-Absence-Application-Form.pdf

If you are unsure, please check with the College Administration.

Thank you!

Last week's Emerging Leaders of Tomorrow forum had some community support we want to acknowledge.

Special thanks to Callows for a cash donation and supply of materials, to Bunnings for discounting items, and to K-Mart for a voucher.

We are grateful for their partnership - and ask that you support those who support us.

School Photo Day

A small adjustment has been made to when school photo days are scheduled.

Busselton Campus photos now will happen on Wednesday 5th August.

Dunsborough is now on Thursday 6th August.

Parents are asked to avoid booking appointments or holidays on these days.

State School's Mountain Bike Championships

We recently advertised on the College Facebook page for expressions of interest for high school students who would like to join the team for the State School's Mountain Bike Championships.

Unfortunately this has been cancelled due to the unfolding health crisis.
