Captain's Corner

Year 7 Captains Harmony & Ricky

Hi my name is Ricky. I’m the Year 7 school captain for MITS 2023 this term, and I’m from Darwin in the Northern Territory. I was a bit nervous when I got called up to be announced as MITS school captain. I never wanted to do it at the start, but Mr Brad the Principal gave me courage to make a speech and stand in front of the class to read it.

After I got used to it I started to have more courage, and feel like a leader now and I am proud of myself for being selected as school captain for this term and I would like to thank our Principal Brad for giving me the courage to get up in front of my class.

Hi my name is Harmony Balshaw-Jack and I am this year’s Term 1 captain with Ricky. I am from Lakes Entrance in Victoria. When my name was called to receive my captain badge I was nervous. Then I walked over and felt more proud than nervous.

It was a weird feeling but I felt more confident, then I had to begin hosting assembly with the speech that Mr Brad gave me. I looked up and every one was looking at me and then I looked back at the page. After I read  it, I felt less nervous, it was fun and I enjoyed it. I can't wait for the next assembly and the other opportunities I will get whilst being captain.
