Positive Behaviours for Learning

Last newsletter I put up our Positive Behaviours for Learning matrix. All the expectations in the matrix are explicitly taught to the students and reinforced throughout each and every day.

This term each Learning Group are concentrating on the following expectations.

RESPECT

We use our manners

We use a quiet & calm voice when speaking with one another

We use kind words and actions

We are patient

We use an inside voice

We allow others to learn

We respect other people’s belongings

RESPONSIBILITY

We are ready for our learning

We stay on task

We take care of our belongings

We look after our learning spaces

RESILIENCE

We work cooperatively

We accept challenges and work hard to reach them

We always try to improve by

setting goals for ourselves

We show good sportsmanship

We use technology as a tool for learning

 

Behaviour Management Flow Chart

Unfortunately there are times when students forget the expectations at OLSC and make inappropriate choices.  When this happens we follow our Behaviour Management Flow Chart. This ensures a consistency and fairness across our school  with the managing of  inappropriate choices.

Learning Centre Helpers 

 

If you have completed the learning centre helpers course at OLSC & are able to help out in the learning centres please contact the Learning Centre leader. All helpers will require a current Working With Children card.

Learning Centre Helpers Course

If you would like to be a Learning Centre helper we are running a Learning Centre Helpers Course for any parents/grandparents that would like to help out on a regular basis in our Learning Centres. The course will be run on Thursday 23rd February @ 9am. All are welcome to attend.

The course covers areas such as:

  • The role of a helper
  • How children learn
  • Types of questions
  • Possible activities
  • Confidentiality
  • Working with children check

Student Leaders News

Zooper Dooper Fridays

Every Friday for the rest of Term 1 the SRC will be selling Zooper Doopers for 50 cents. They will go around to each learning centre at first break. Only one zooper dooper can be purchased per child.
