2023 TCPC Parent Welcome Sundowner

Last Friday evening, the Trinity College Parent Council (TCPC) hosted the 2023 TCPC Welcome Sundowner on McCabe Court. It was a perfect night spent by the Swan River, with a Mexican fiesta menu, margarita bar, prizes galore, and a tremendous turnout - over 500 parents registered to attend!

Plenty of new connections were made, old connections were re-kindled, and lots of great conversations, laughs and dancing occurred. The raffle station was a hit once again, and the TCPC would like to thank and acknowledge the following businesses for their support:

  • Public House Perth
  • The Camfield
  • Crown Perth
  • United Cellars
  • Tony Barlow
  • Aldi Inglewood
  • General Public Food Co
  • St John's Ambulance
  • The Chillo Collection
  • St Anne’s Florist & Gift Baskets

The TCPC would also like to thank TC families for your time, support and generosity. We certainly could not do what we do or achieve our goals without the support of parents and friends of the College. We look forward to welcoming you to our next event.

Finally, don’t forget to purchase your tickets for the 2023 TCPC Tuition Fee Lottery! Sales close Tuesday, 28 March (unless sold out prior).

Blue Tree Project

Years 7-12

The Blue Tree Project is an organisation aimed at encouraging people to start difficult conversations around mental health and inspire individuals to speak up when battling mental health concerns. By spreading the paint and spreading the message that "It’s OK to not be OK", we can help break down the stigma that is still largely attached to mental health.

Blue Round

Throughout the PSA fixture against Wesley College in Week 6, we invite the entire Trinity College community to become involved in our Blue Round to highlight the importance of talking about mental health and supporting those who may be experiencing mental health difficulties.

This initiative aims to raise awareness and funds for the fantastic work the Blue Tree Project does in our community. Students, staff, and community members are invited to be involved in the following ways:

  • Blue Uniform Day - to promote the cause, on Thursday, 9 March students are asked to wear their PE uniform for a gold coin donation with the funds raised going to support the Blue Tree Project. Year 11 and 12 students who do not have a PE shirt can wear a blue Trinity sport shirt with their Trinity College PE shorts

  • At lunchtime students will have the opportunity to wrap the tree with blue wraps

  • During their PSA sporting fixture students are encouraged to wear blue tape, zinc and or sweatbands with the aim of raising awareness for this important and worthy cause.

Facing the challenge of a mental health disorder is difficult enough, but another layer of pain comes with dealing with the reaction of others.

The most significant consequence of stigma surrounding mental health issues is that people are reluctant to seek the treatment they need.

When we all work together, we can create change! When we change our attitudes toward those with mental health challenges, the stigma will be reduced, and more people will receive the help they need to recover and live full, healthy lives. At TC, that is our goal!
