Junior School news

Thank you to all of the teachers who were involved in the two day transition program for Year 7 students. The students had a great few days getting to know their classmates and teachers, getting connected to the network, familiarising themselves with school rules and expectations and navigating around the school on a scavenger hunt. 

We look forward to a wonderful year ahead.

Year 7 Camp – Arrabri Lodge

All Year 7 students will be attending a camp at Arrabri Lodge in Warburton East Wednesday 22 February to Friday 24 February. 

This is a fantastic opportunity for the students to get to know each other and for them to get to know their teachers in a relaxed setting. More information regarding Year 7 camp and for parents to provide consent is on Mentone Girls’ Secondary College Compass Parent Portal. 

Year 7 Parent Information Evening/Meet and Greet

The 2023 Year 7 Information Evening/Meet and Greet will be held on Tuesday 14 February at 6pm to 8.15pm. The evening will commence with a presentation from key staff before parents spend some time with their child's ALL teacher followed by refreshments put on by the PFA.

Year 7 Immunisations

Year 7 immunisation day is scheduled for Monday 27 February. There will not be a second date as previously planned. Immunisations Cards need to be returned to First Aid.

Year 8 Elevate

The Year 8 students have an Elevate presentation on study skills/time management during period 5 on Tuesday 14 February.  These skills will stand them in good stead for all years and we encourage the students to practise them so that they become more effective learners. 

Elevate Parent Session - Year 8 & 9

Elevate will be running an online Parent Session on Tuesday 14 February, 5-6pm to all families in Year 8 and 9, as we would like you to hear the information so that you can encourage and support your daughter in using some study skills at home. More information to come via Compass Newsfeed.
