Opening hours are 8am – 5pm, Monday through to Friday.

Year 7 Induction and Scavenger Hunt

Over the past week the library has hosted an induction session for the Year 7s.  Students were introduced to library spaces, the digital and print collection and website before setting off on a scavenger hunt.  The ‘Scavenger Hunt’ is a creative exercise with the purpose familiarizing students with library spaces, the large physical collection of books available for borrowing and to demonstrate the electronic resources available for research so that they are able to navigate these spaces independently.  The session wrapped up with students borrowing their first library book which will be used in their Wider Reading assignment and presentation in Term 1.

Book Club

Book Clubs are a great way to engage with students who share a love of literature as they will get the opportunity to read diverse books, share their ideas and gain new perspectives. The MGSC Book Club is meeting this Friday, 10th February to discuss what they have read during the summer holidays and to select book club titles for this term.

The library provides book club titles to students, meeting once a term during lunchtime.  Students are welcome to drop by the library or email library@mgsc.vic.edu.au with details of their name and class if they would like to join.
