From the Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,
We welcome our prep students to their first week of full-time school this week! Our prep students and their families have been settling in well to the structure and routine of school life, and we are looking forward to gathering as a whole school (including the preps) at Twilight Sports Carnival on Friday 31st March from 4:30-6:30 pm
Family Night under the stars - Thank You
Last Friday we had the perfect conditions for St Simon’s families to gather on the school oval for the Family Night Under the Stars screening of “Encanto”. Thank you to our fantastic Parents’ Association members and helpers who organised a wonderful event ensuring families were fed and had plenty ice-cream, coffee and popcorn.
The Resilience Project - Partnership School - Upcoming Parent Session
St Simon’s is proud to be a Partnership School with The Resilience Project.
We are pleased to make a live Parent Information Session with The Resilience Project (TRP) presenters available.
Please visit the Wellbeing section of the newsletter for more information and registration details. I encourage all new families to St Simon’s to participate in the session so that they understand the approach and curriculum we use to teach and support emotionally literate and resilient students. I also encourage and invite our current families to reengage with the message and resources of The Resilience Project so that you can continue to support your child\ren in this space.

The car park pedestrian structure is open!
After many months of preparation and construction, the car park pedestrian shelter is now open. This is a welcomed addition to our school and parish, ensuring that students and staff on duty have some sort of shelter during wet and hot months of the year. We will be sharing a further update to the car park drop off \pick protocol that will continue to support the safety of all users of the car park area.
St Simon’s hosting Eastern Region Learning and Teaching Network for Catholic Schools - Thursday 2nd March
On Thursday morning after 9:00 am, we will welcome some visitors from other catholic schools from all over the Eastern Region as we host Eastern Region Learning and Teaching Network Term 1 Meeting. The event starts at 9:15 am so that the morning school drop-off routine is impacted minimally. The meeting concludes at 1:00pm so we anticipate that there will be minimal impact on the traffic for school pick-up time.
Whole School Welcome Mass Tuesday 7th March - 9:15 am - All Welcome
Next Tuesday 7th March we will gather as a whole school to celebrate Mass. We will officially commission and present badges to Year 6 Student Action Leaders and Student Representative Council members during this time.
