Adjustments to our Continous Learning Program: Remote and Flexible Learning
Its been great to hear that, bar a couple of timetabling issues, recent adjustments made to our Continuous Learning Program: Remote and Flexible Learning have been overwhelmingly well-received.
Mr Dan Palanca joined our team as our new Physical Education teacher and received a beautiful welcome from one of our students which I thought I would share:
"Dear Mr Palanca, When I first watched your loom video I saw that you put a lot of your effort into this! I can tell you are very well planned and even made yourself write notes! In my opinion, you will (and are) a wonderful teacher to our community!
These words of a nine-year-old provide a timely reminder of how online communications to staff need to be written with kindness and respect.
With the Victorian Premier announcing today the easing of restrictions in Regional Victoria, it does provide 'light at the end of the tunnel' for us in metropolitan Melbourne and hopefully something to look forward to for the commencement of Term 4.
Learning Conferences
As communicated previously, Learning Conferences are scheduled for Wednesday 15th September in the last week of term.
Similar to previous periods of lockdown, our Learning Conferences will be conducted via video conferencing (online). Families are to use our regular booking system to book a time and will receive a video link in the confirmation email. Please keep this email in a safe place as on the day and time of your interview you will need to open the email and click on the video link.
To book an appointment you will need to go towww.schoolinterviews.com.au and enter the event code of v4u4p then follow the simple prompts. Bookings are now open.
A reminder to our Year 5/6 families to please refer to the email sent out to families yesterday when making your booking.
For our Learning Conferences to work smoothly everyone must be on time. Should you believe an extended time slot is required, please contact the school office so that we can make appropriate arrangements.
The days of the Learning Conferences will NOT be School Closure days. Students will be set independent work tasks which can be accessed as normal through their Google Classroom.
I had hoped to get this information out to you all a little sooner but a few technical issues prevented us from doing so. Nevertheless .... better late than never!
NAPLAN
Year 3 and Year 5 NAPLAN Reports have been received and a collection time was offered to families on Monday and Tuesday. The remaining reports will be mailed out to families in the coming days.
Last Day of Term
Just a reminder that Friday 17th September will be our last day of term and all students will finish at 1:00pm. Students attending our Onsite Supervision Program will also have to be collected at 1:00 pm.
Have a wonderful week
God Bless
Anthony Hyde
