Learning Conferences

On Tuesday 27th July and Monday 2nd August we held our mid year Learning Conferences.  These meetings were a great chance for the teachers to touch base with parents again to see how their child was progressing and to address any concerns.

If for some reason you could not attend a conference, please contact your child’s class teacher to make a time that is mutually convenient.

Book Week 2021 - “Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds”

It is that time of year again where we celebrate the Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA) Book Week!  During Week 6 (23rd Aug - 27th Aug) Mount Carmel College students will be spending one glorious week celebrating books and Australian children’s authors and illustrators. Throughout this week students across all year levels will participate in activities centred around this year's shortlisted books and many more of their favourite stories.  If you would like to get in early and start planning your costume our annual Book Week dress up parade will be on Friday 27 August.

Arts Festival Evening

Our Primary classes are busily preparing for the Arts Festival Evening which will be held on Wednesday 1 September from 3.20pm.  Your child will have artwork on display as well as participating in a performance with their class. There will be lots of other entertainment on the night as well as some tasty treats for you to sample. It would be lovely to see families supporting this annual College event!  Stay tuned for more information.

Learn-to-Swim

During Week 9 of Term 3 our Prep, Year 1, Year 3 and Year 5 classes will all be participating in our Learn-to-Swim program. More information with specific class times and what your child will need for this program will be provided in the next newsletter.  If you have any concerns about your child participating in this program please do not hesitate to contact your child’s class teacher.
