Science Term 3

The students this term have been investigating all things to do with biological sciences. As always they have shown great enthusiasm as they have been learning about animals, living things and dinosaurs.

During remote learning our junior school students enjoyed learning about dinosaur fossils. They discovered that a Palaeontologist is someone who studies the past with the help of fossils. They students enjoyed ‘digging’ up dinosaur fossils and worked hard to put the dinosaur fossils together. They discovered that many dinosaurs have sharp teeth, long necks and spikes!

Our middle school students have been investigating living things. They have discovered that to be classified a living thing it needs to respire, move, respond to stimuli, grow and have a life cycle. They worked hard during remote learning not only learning about living things but also working on their ICT skills, dragging and dropping items and typing answers.

Our senior school students have been investigating animals and how animals adapt to their habitats in order to survive. They have learnt that there are different ways in which an organism can adapt and that these adaptations can be behavioural, structural and physiological. We have also learnt that as humans we also adapt and had some great conversations around home learning and the adaptations we have had to make!
