Principal's News

Mr Rodrigues

Dear Families,

As announced this evening schools will be closed from tomorrow and will hopefully re-open next Thursday after the snap lockdown. I know and understand the difficulty this places on families and appreciate all the support given by parents each time this occurs. As a staff I have asked that we all remain positive and do the best we can for our children. As previously, our plan for remote learning will begin from 11am tomorrow. I have included our school plan on the following page for your information.

School Tours

Whilst most of the school tours for Prep 2022 have now been completed there are still a few families wanting to tour our school and they are always deeply impressed by our confident children who are so willing to share their learning or speak about Trinity. I often feel that when these families choose us it may well be because of the impact our children have had on them.

Prep/One Excursion

A huge thank you to our Junior teachers who managed to turn a potential disaster into a very exciting and memorable experience for our Prep and Year Ones.  As some of you may be aware, a very last minute announcement by the Melbourne Zoo meant that the planned excursion for our Junior students had to be cancelled. An excursion such as this takes considerable planning and I am sure you can appreciate the teachers disappointment and of course the children's. However, between 2pm on Friday and late on Saturday afternoon our Junior team was able to organize and prepare for the alternative excursion which took place on Monday. Thank you also to our Junior parents for their patience and support in enabling all children to attend. I hope this little video captures some of the excitement and memories of the day, sorry we couldn't include every photo.

Prep to Year 3 Student Led Conferences

Our Prep and Year One Student Led conferences, which had to be postponed, will now be held on,  Wednesday 18th September from 1:30-6:30pm. We are also enabling any parents from Year 2 and Year 3 who may have missed the opportunity in Week 2, to have their Student Led conference  at this time. We will provide a link in an email in the coming days to the Parent Online Portal so that parents can book a suitable time.  We really value this process and is gives genuine voice and agency to our children.

Trinity Art Show

Trinity Art Show

Save the Date

Friday 9th September at Trinity Primary School.

The theme of our Art Show this year is,

"It takes a village and our village is Richmond."

We have chosen this theme using the well known African Proverb because we really believe in the importance of everyone taking responsibility for the raising of our children. Parents, teachers and the community working together to give our children the best life possible. We also acknowledge our wonderful suburb, Richmond, its great history and its very special place in Melbourne's story.

Of course this year we will once again highlight the great artistic talent of so many of our children but we would also like to include some Family Art Work which we are hoping to organize in the coming weeks.

On Wednesday 11th August Ms Antonella has asked any Parents & Friends who are available between 2:30 and 3pm to join her in the school library for a quick meeting to discuss some fundraising ideas, a raffle and to share how we can support each other in making this a very special event.

Welcome Ms Georgia our new LSO.

At Trinity Primary School we are very lucky to have an amazing team of LSO's who work in each classroom supporting teachers and further enabling our quality personalized learning to take place each day. This week we have been lucky to have another new person join the team and so I would like to welcome Ms Georgia who will be working in the Prep/One area. We already know that she will be a great addition to our staff.

Important COVID safety measures

Thank you everyone for keeping up our COVID safe practices and wearing masks when required and avoiding coming into the office area unless absolutely essential. A reminder also that if any child at Trinity appears unwell we may need to have them collected.

Prep 2022 - Make a Friend afternoon,

Wednesday 1st September 2pm - 3pm

All our prep 2022 Families will be working on a Family Art activity which will be displayed at our Art Show later in Term 3.

Following the activity we will invite those families to gather outside in the adventure playground which will be a great opportunity for our current families picking up children to come and say hello.

Kind Regards

Mr Nigel Rodrigues
