Rowing House Regatta
On Saturday 16 June our Years 8-12 rowers came together to celebrate all the efforts of our newest members of the John XXIII College Rowing family, racing in House groups for the inaugural House Regatta.
The Year 8 students are at the beginning of their rowing journey’s, have spent the last two terms developing the fundamentals of the rowing stroke and an understanding of the fitness, dedication and commitment required to be a successful rower.
The 2018 House Regatta gave all our Year 8 students an opportunity to compete alongside our amazing group of experienced rowers. Racing over 200 metres, the Years 8-12 students showcased all they have learnt in an enjoyable atmosphere in front of their families. The day saw races won by all houses, with Loreto taking out the overall winners for the inaugural House Regatta for 2018.
Thank you to all the parents who assisted with the barbeque in the morning, the Committee for their assistance in the lead up to the event and the Coaches for all their efforts throughout the Year 8 Rowing program including the marshalling of the races on the day.
