Around The Primary

Dear Parents
It was wonderful to see so many parents and grandparents at our Primary school assembly today. We were thoroughly entertained by the Pre-Primary students - it was a first-rate presentation of the magnificent learning that occurs in this foundation year of schooling. It was so lovely to see how proud the young children were of their performance on the stage. Congratulations to Mrs Dillon, Miss Di Biaggio, Miss Rushmere and Ms Exten for coordinating this wonderful assembly.
Well done to all the children that received a certificate - we are very proud of your efforts!
Yesterday we hosted the IPSHA Winter Lightning Carnival. This involved our Year 5 and 6 participating in soccer, netball, football and hockey games with students from Newman, All Saints College, Carmel School, Quintilian School, Loreto Primary School, Tranby College, St Andrews, John Wollaston, Frederick Irwin and South Coast Baptist College. Our sporting fields and courts filled with over five hundred students from the various schools. Our teams tried very hard and the students thoroughly enjoyed competing in this sporting experience. It was also a great opportunity for our students to excel on the sporting field.
Our appreciation is extended to Mr Alderman and all the hard-working staff and parent volunteers who assisted in the organisation and running of this event.
A big thank you to our Secondary students that umpired the various games throughout the day.
We were very proud of all the Primary students who performed in the John XXIII College Music Eisteddfod this week. Each student performed to their personal best and showed their talents on their own, or with a friend in a duet. The excitement and happiness on the performers’ faces was great to see.
We hope many parents and friends can join us at the Music Eisteddfod Winners’ Concert on Sunday afternoon. The concert begins at 5.30pm in the Gonzaga Barry Lecture Theatre.
Next Friday 29 June it is our annual ‘Comfy Day’ and the whole College community is invited to come to school dressed in warm comfy clothes or pyjamas. On this day we hope to raise the students’ awareness of how fortunate we are to have access to everyday privileges. All students are asked to bring along a gold coin donation for LifeLink or if you have a spare packet of tea bags or extra supply of coffee or Milo in your cupboard these donations would also be greatly appreciated by The Shopfront.
Kind regards
Antoinette De Pinto
Head of Primary
Congratulations to all the children who have recently received the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist or Confirmation at the various Parishes. We have loved receiving some photos! Please send a copy of your child’s Sacramental certificate to school so we can update our records.
Well done to all the students who received a certificate for their fantastic achievements.
