10 + Camp

From the 21st to the 23rd of October 2019, a select few 10+ Club students were offered the chance to attend a city camp! We all participated in a range of fun and engaging activities such as Ice Skating, which was really fun, riding the Melbourne Star, that had utterly breathtaking views, and shopping at the Victoria Market that was an experience itself. This camp was a great chance to spend time in the city of Melbourne, see the sights and make some new friends. We stayed at the Hotel Claremont, which was a really nice, comfortable and homely place, however we spent most of our time doing some great activities. The camp also gave students an opportunity to visit universities, learn about the ‘Big Issue’, create their own ‘Road to Zero’ videos at Melbourne Museum and have fun at the Wipeout session at the pool.  The whole three days was an amazing experience that really showed us all about Melbourne and offered us connections that we’ll all treasure for ages to come.

Student Achievement in the community

On the 15th of September 2019 there were a number of local football grand finals. In the Senior School we were lucky enough to have two students Roan Steele and Julian Mamanu who played in the Under 19’s Premiership Team for YCW Frankston. They were victorious against the Mt Eliza Demons. Well Done.

In the senior school we also had Jazmin Perry, Ben McClutchie, Geoff Chapman, Cooper Murray, Emily Magro, Ben Moscrop and Manuao Hakaraia-Graham playing in a Mixed Basketball Grand final Sunday night, they were also victorious and was great to see such a great collaboration between the 11’s and 12’s on the sporting field, it reflects what a great culture we have at McClelland College.

Mailie Gibson of Year 11 competed in the first ever Australian All Junior Flyball team. Mailie organised and captained this team with great success. Well done Mailie.
