Sonia Nista- Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Specialist
With loads of wonderful fresh produce coming out of our garden, our second breakfast menu is off to an amazing start!
Last week we started making zucchini, carrot and corn pancakes, served with tomato and rocket. This menu on the whole has been really well received by the children who remember planting all the corn, which you will see over by the Prep portables.
Whilst still focusing our attention on breakfast and how important this meal is to start the day. We have been talking about eggs and how to handle them in the kitchen, also hygiene in the kitchen, which is super important too.
Thank you to all of the parents who have responded to my call out for volunteers. The response has been wonderful, and yes, we would love some more! So, if you have some free time on Thursdays or Fridays and love cooking or gardening, please pop in and take a look. All you need is a current Working With Children Card, completed the Parent Helper program, and you’re good to go. I can be contacted by email on nista.sonia.s@edumail.vic.gov.au.
A big thank you also to one of our sponsors, Planet Hope. Planet Hope is a local business who is continuing to help us this year with the cost of our cleaning products in the kitchen.
With our school constantly working on sustainability, these products are not only healthy for the environment but a much better option for our skin.
