PROFESSIONAL LEARNING COMMUNITIES AT KINGSWOOD

The school has developed a structure that supports the development of Professional Learning Communities. At each year level we have appointed the following instructional leaders: Mrs Linda Hawkless (Prep), Mr Michael Wall (Year 1), Miss Verity Sheppard (Year 2), Mrs Sharron Cramer (Year 3/4) and Miss Bree Morgan (Year 5/6). Our instructional leaders are highly skilled, outstanding teachers.  Professional Learning Communities focus on developing and strengthening teacher capacity. On a weekly basis the instructional leaders support teachers in their team through professional reading, high quality learning about best practice, providing feedback, coaching and modelling.

There is substantive evidence around the world that demonstrates teaching quality and school leadership are essential to improving student outcomes and that teacher effectiveness is the most critical in-school drive as to whether your child succeeds. We are allocating substantial school resources to ensure that your child has the best possible chance to perform at their potential by achieving at least 12 months or more learning growth.
