YEAR 8 CAMPUS NEWS

WARM WELCOME
Welcome back to term 3. It is hard to believe that we are already 20 weeks into the school year and that the end of the academic year is now closer than the beginning.
Hopefully all students and their families had a chance to refresh and re-energise as term 3 will see many important events take place. Such as a report reflection task completed in Pastoral Care Group’s today, the VO/ VCE/VCAL Subject Selection Information Evening at the Mercy Campus next Tuesday and subsequent subject selections due by the August 24.
The Athletics Carnival is on August 16 and the second Human Powered Vehicle Race will be conducted at Victoria Park in Adelaide at the end of week 2. All of these events reinforce how busy the term promises to be but also shows the great opportunities on offer.
Students completed an extended report reflection during extended pastoral care time today (Thursday) and I trust that all students and their families had a chance to look over their reports and dissect them appropriately. One of the benefits of our reporting structure is that all feedback for assessment tasks is given at the time of assessment instead of waiting until the end of each semester.
I encourage you to contact your child’s PCG to discuss these and set up an appointment with the teachers involved if necessary. In many cases a meeting or even a simple conversation with the key stakeholders in your child’s education will have positive results for future growth.
