Winter Morning view for the Walk & Talk group

Walk & Talk

The first parents and friends walk and talk saw a small group brave a chilly Wednesday morning for a stroll around the native grassland circuit at Royal Park.  Here in North Melbourne we are so fortunate to have this magnificent park, the largest in Melbourne, covering 170 hectares, right on our doorstep!

It was lovely to take time out for ourselves and get some exercise whilst getting to know each other better. The wide open space and crisp, fresh air left us feeling like we'd been for a stroll in the countryside.  Post walk we enjoyed a hot drink at a local cafe and the chat continued.

Parents and friends walk and talk is a great way to catch up with old friends and make new friends whilst enjoying some exercise at your pace.  The next walk is scheduled for Wednesday 14 August. Meet at 9.05am at the school gate closest to the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden.  Come alone or bring a friend, pre-schoolers in pushers or on bikes are most welcome.

About Us

We are a group of parents and carers who meet each month to organise fundraising and community building events at the school. Last year we organised some fun events for the school including:

  • School Fete
  • Mother's Day Stall
  • Bloke's Breakfast Barbecue
  • Prep Welcome morning tea
  • Dumpling making workshop for parents and kids run by some of our families from the Chinese community.

We would love to hold some other cultural sharing events.   Please contact us if you have any suggestions.
