Benedicta

Community Day 2017

The first day of Spring greeted us with blue skies and sunshine. The perfect day to hold Kildare and Benedicta House first ever Colour Run. The top oval was awash with coloured powder and students and staff running about excitedly splashing each other with coloured powder. The afternoon on the top oval was a success, with good student numbers involved and from all early reports, a great time was had by all involved.

Earlier in the day, money was raised from the wearing of mufti clothes, a recess cake stall and the selling of sausages and cans of drink at lunchtime. We also raised money from the raffle of a woman's beauty pack which was kindly donated by MYER of Wagga Wagga.

The money raised will go to local organisations:

  • St Vincent De Paul Wagga (The St Vincent de Paul Society in Australia has more than 40,000 members and volunteers, who work hard to assist people in need and combat social injustice across Australia).

Edel Quinn Shelter (Edel Quinn provides crisis accommodation and case management services primarily for men who are experiencing homelessness in the Wagga Wagga region).

Sisters Housing Enterprise Inc. (Sisters Housing Enterprises Inc is a community based not for profit organisation providing medium term supported accommodation for single women and women with children).

A personal thank you from me to all the parents, students and staff who supported the day.
