(BOYS) Creed Cup

Kildare’s Creed Cup team finished 3rd in the Combined Wagga Schools Football competition after a 2-1 win against TRAC. Kildare dominated TRAC from the outset. TRAC’s defence found it difficult to control Kildare’s forwards, Jamieson Honda, Irish Freemantle, Alliance Irishura, William McMahon, and Abbas Ali. It was no surprise when Jamieson Honda opened the scoring with a fine finish after being setup by an incisive pass from Xavier Lyon. Xavier, Anotidaishe Matowe, and Camryn McCrory dominated the midfield giving TRAC little chance to pressure the Kildare defence. On those occasions when the TRAC attack did threaten, Andre Vecchio, Sam Jones, Jacob Butt, and Isaac Schiller easily dealt with the threat. Mitchyl McCrory in goals was largely a bystander in the first half. Half time score was 1-0. Camryn McCrory extended Kildare’s lead early in the second half. A period of dominance by TRAC mid-way through the second half allowed TRAC to make the score 2-1. This dominance was short lived as Kildare regained control of the match and finished worthy winners.
Congratulations to the players; Andre Vecchio, Jacob Butt, Sam Jones, Alliance Irishura, Anotidaishe Matowe, Xavier Lyons, Abbas Ali, Irish Freemantle, Isaac Schiller, Jamieson Honda, William McMahon, Mitchyl McCrory, Camryn McCrory, Harrison Toole, Charlie Prest, James Goode and Mr Avo for the best result Kildare has achieved since the inception of this competition.
In reaching the 3rd / 4th playoff, Kildare defeated Kooringal High School 1-0, Mt Austin High 3-0 and Wagga Christian College 2-1 and were defeated in the semi-final by Wagga Wagga High 1-0.
