The Year 12 English Advanced and Standard students, along with our colleagues from Mater Dei Catholic College, were fortunate enough to attend a Study Day on Wednesday 6th September run by Barbara Stanners. Mrs Stanners has written numerous text books and study guides about both the HSC Advanced and Standard courses and she has come back to KCC for the third time. Mrs Stanners offered invaluable advice to our students about how to achieve success the Area of Study: Discovery Paper 1. Students viewed and deconstructed a variety of text types, learnt more about the power of flash fiction and then spent time considering important aspects of their prescribed text. They also had the opportunity to ask questions at the end of the day.
