MusoMagic Workshop

Last week 65 students across Year 7-12 participated Muso Magic. Muso Magic is an initiative created in 2000 by Adam Thompson. It uses various team building exercises to push students out of their comfort zone in a safe and supportive environment. The culmination of this is an original song and film clip developed entirely by the students. Fifteen mentors from both Kildare and the wider community were privileged to see the students so engaged and their confidence grow over the two days. Please follow the link to see the students band The Yeetles and their original song 'Back (we got yours)'.

On the 28th and 29th (Tuesday Wednesday), Kildare students took part in a songwriting workshop called ‘Muso Magic’, which was run by Chocolate Starfish lead singer, Adam Thompson. On the first day, we all split off into our set groups and worked on creating different parts of the eventual song, “Back (we got yours)”. The next day, we made our music video and recorded the song. We then got told we will be doing a few flash mobs throughout the main streets of Wagga Wagga. At first, we were all extremely nervous but everyone participated and got involved. It ended up being an amazing event and an awesome experience. The experience overall, helped students of all year groups develop teamwork skills, as well as many unlikely friendships. Everyone took away something positive from the two days, even if songwriting was something entirely new to them. We would 100% recommend this to everyone because it was honestly such an amazing experience to see everyone getting involved and everyone getting excited over making a song.
