College Captain Speeches

Last week, ten Year 11 students each presented a speech outlining why they would like to be College Captain. They spoke about their understanding of the role incorporating the three main elements of the College - learning, wellbeing and being part of a faith community. Student leaders don’t represent students or advocate for students: rather, they work with staff leaders to improve community, relationships, opportunity learning, work and well-being for all.

Following the speeches, the student population (Years 7 -11) voted and College captains were announced during the Founder’s Day Mass last Friday. (insert image)

The College Captains for 2019 are Bree-Anna Stephens & Samuel Butt.

The nominations for House and Boarding Captains have now opened. Students wishing to nominate for House or Boarding positions will meet with their Academic Care & Wellbeing Coordinator this week for an interview. Following Year 11 exams, successful candidates will present a speech to their House. Leadership positions will be announced during the Graduation Mass & Awards in Week 10 where the current Year 12 leaders will hand over to the incoming captains.
