Kildare Day Founders' Mass

The Kildare Catholic College community, along with guests from the Presentation Sisters, gathered on Friday 31 August in the College Hall, to celebrate and give thanks for the contribution and ongoing legacy of Nano Nagle, founder of the Presentation Sisters and Edmund Rice, founder of the Christian Brothers.
The celebration was made even more memorable with the addition of the talented musicians and singing from the choir. Thank you to Sam Butt and Caitlin Hood for their wonderful rendition of ‘Hey Brother by Avicii’, which accompanied a reflection featuring images of the history of Kildare and the impacts of the Presentation Sisters and Christian Brothers.
The College community heard first hand what inspired Nano and Edmund to begin their work in educating young Irish Catholics in their faith and the foundations of learning. Thank you to Ellen Buchanan and Thomas O’Brien (both Year 11 students) for bringing our Founders’ stories to life.
Our College Captains for 2019, Bree Stephens and Sam Butt were announced, receiving their badges from outgoing College Captains, Amy Li and Jackson Weidemann.
Thank you to Fr Paddy and Fr Anto for leading our celebration, Melanie Cotterill and Felicity Davis for preparing the musicians and singers, Grant Luhrs for the sound, Terry Kennedy and Narelle Potts for their organisation.
