Prep Transition 2017

It has been wonderful to meet our new families for next year and continue to welcome established families to our Transition sessions ready for our 2017 school year.  Yesterday children had an hour classroom experience with their teacher for next year and we had smiles all round.  These transition sessions enable children to become familiarised with their teacher, classroom and the school and develops confidence and builds self-esteem and resilience in starting their school journey.  Thank you to all parents who have supported our transition program and worked with us to make their child’s school beginning a positive one.

Alcester Village Pre-School

On Thursday and Friday of this week we have visits from our kinder children from Alchester Village Pre School for a ‘school experience’. They play on the oval and prep equipment, go to the toilets, drink from the ‘bubble taps’, read a book in the library and look around a prep classrooms. We welcome our local preschool children with open arms and continue to support them in further developing the strong ties we have.

Instrumental Showcase Concert

Instruction does much, but encouragement everything   J.W. Goethe

A recital showcasing all children who take private instrumental lessons, took place on Wednesday night and it was amazing.  It is an important time for children as they get to perform in front of their families and their peers. It was great to see families supporting  and encouraging them.  We had many wonderful performances, some group and some solo performances.  Performances were from vocal, violin, saxophone, clarinet, flute, fife, recorder, bass guitar, keyboard and drum students.  Congratulations to all students who have achieved outstanding success with their instrument, we are extremely proud of you.
