School Wide Positive Behaviour

Positive Acknowledgment Chronicle

Schoolwide Positive Behaviour System (SWPBS) is a cornerstone of our Wellbeing and Inclusion Framework at GSSC.

SWPBS brings together school communities to develop positive, safe and supportive learning cultures through the explicit teaching of respectful and positive behaviours, consistent response to behaviours of concern; and feedback and positive acknowledgement of students who demonstrate our expected behaviours.

One way GSSC Staff acknowledge students is by a positive acknowledgement chronicle on Compass. Students can check their positive acknowledgment chronicles online by clicking on their initials in the top right corner of the initial Compass page.

This will take them to a page where they can see how many positive chronicles they have earned, with notes telling them what they were given for, and which teacher has awarded them.

PAC Cup - Term 1

Arriving to class on time

The Positive Acknowledgment Chronicles (PAC Cup) aim to promote House and Neighbourhood connection and pride through acknowledging students who are demonstrating our college values of aspiration, integrity, responsibility and respect throughout the school day.

This terms focus is arriving to class on time.

When teachers enter a positive chronicle on Compass for students arriving on time, a daily tally is calculated for each House and Neighbourhood. On March 22nd, the winning house, based on the highest number of positive chronicles for arriving to class on time, will be announced. In recognition of their efforts, this House will be acknowledged with a free lunch. At this stage, competition is close between the top three houses:

Murray House (Biyala Neighbourhood)

1611 positive chronicles

Kiewa House (Dharnya Neighbourhood)

1535 positive chronicles

Warrego House (Bayuna Neighbourhood) 1277 positive chronicles

Goulburn House (Dharnya) is only a bit behind Warrego on 1204 positive chronicles – as is Campaspe (Dharnya) on 1154.  May the best house win!!

National Day of Action Against Bullying

Friday 18th March

This year’s theme is ‘Kindness culture- it starts with you’. By building a kindness culture together, we can promote inclusion, respect and community belonging for all students. There will be a range of activities our students will participate in, during homegroup sessions next week, to ensure that we reduce the likelihood of hurt and harm at school and in our community; and have the opportunity to be inclusive and kind to each other.  Support and advice for young people, schools and families can be found at https://bullyingnoway.gov.au/preventing-bullying
