The Careers and Pathways space has been extremely busy over the past couple of weeks with a multitude of events taking place here at Killester. There are also lots of tours and events which are scheduled across the Easter School Holidays which I encourage students and families to take advantage of.
Access Monash Program 2022
On Friday March 11 Killester College hosted Monash University to launch the Access Monash Program for 2022. Killester College participants in the program met their Access Monash mentors and learnt all about the perks of being involved as a mentee for 2022. Mentors and mentees will meet across Terms 1, 2 & 3 to discuss how to successfully navigate Year 11 and 12, as well as a range of available tertiary options. The program culminates with two career links being identified and investigated. It was wonderful to see Killester College students embracing this valuable program and I wish them luck for the rest of this adventure.
UCAT Registration for Medical/Dental Courses for Year 12's
All Year 12 students who are considering applying for direct entry from Year 12 to either Medical or Dental Bachelor Degrees are required to complete the UCAT. Applications are currently open and will close on May 17, 2022. Testing will occur between July 1 and August 12, 2022. Interested students should visit the below website for further information to ensure they are registered. Preparation for the UCAT is highly recommended as acceptance into Medicine/Dental degrees direct from Year 12 is highly competitive. https://www.ucat.edu.au/
Deakin University Easter School Holiday Tours
Deakin would like to invite students and their families to our campus tours these upcoming school holidays. Led by current Deakin students, the 1-hour small group tours are a great way for students to see our world-class facilities and learning spaces, get a feel for uni life and ask questions about the courses that interest them.
